Gearing up for 2011

Destiny Lounge is proud to announce our triumphant return to the playa after a year spent slacking in the back streets! We're bringing back our comfy lounge, icy beverages, fun activities, great music, and, of course, something new for you, our Playa friends! If you remember us from 2009, you know that we had an awesome camp right on the corner of 3:00 and the Esplanade, where you came and hung out, played our giant games, danced til you were silly (well, you were always silly!) and participated in the general debauchery that is our hallmark! While we don't know just yet where we will be this year, we are looking to be in the same general area around the 3:00 Portal. For this year, we're bringing back our popular jumbo two player game: Rock Yer Balls, our great vibe and lounge, and, new for this year: The Oracle!! Undergo your very own Rite of Passage as you face The Oracle and present your life altering questions for it's perusal. You never know exactly what sort of answer you may receive! 

The Oracle is our new interactive installation, using a mixture of projection, sound, lighting and atmosphere to give you a unique experience you'll want to come back and play with again and again! Sometimes serious, sometimes very tongue in cheek, always good fun, we hope the Oracle will be one of those "Must See" destinations this year on the Playa!

We're also looking for a few new camp members who enjoy our vibe and would like to help bring our ideas to fruition. If you'd like to be a part of the magic of Destiny Lounge, please give a reading to our Membership Info page here on the website. Our camp has a lot to offer for its members and we have a fun, close knit central core. We're a small group, so all of our members have to pitch in in some way. No free rides in our camp!! We're based in Los Angeles but most of our work is done out in Joshua Tree at the weekend home of our leader, Doggy Dave. All of the camp stuff is stored there and we usually have a couple of weekends where folks come out and help get all the bits and pieces dusted off and put together. There will also be at least one video shoot taking place as we create "the Oracle"! Lots of tasks of various kinds available, so don't feel like you have nothing to offer!  You can see the full schedule in the Membership Info for 2011. If you're not from the Los Angeles area and would still like to join in, please contact us and fill us in on how you think you could be a part of  it all!
